Early Life and Political Beginnings
Benjamin Netanyahu was born in Tel Aviv, then part of the British Mandate of Palestine, in 1949. The son of a prominent Zionist leader, he showed an early interest in politics. He studied architecture and engineering in the United States before returning to Israel in 1972.
